I have been to licensed stylists w...I do not agree. I have been to licensed stylists who have ruined my hair. The licensing process if for the state's revenue, it does not necessarily protect the consumer. There is a large number of black women walking around with damaged hair, and I doubt all of it is from faulty braiders. Licensing doesn't equal an equally high standard of haircare. I just received my cosmo license recently and, and I thought I knew everything about braiding. But we fail to realize as black women, that 'tight aint always right'. I think that braid...I'm in complete agreement. I think that braiders should be licensed. I don't think they should be required to complete the same coursework as a full cosmetology licensed, but a modified program could be created. There needs to be some accountability.
