The MyBrownBaby Happy For The Holidays Black Movie Night Giveaway!

Okay, raise your hand if you watch Love & Basketball, Love Jones, The Best Man, New Jack City, Set it Off, Mo’ Betta Blues, or Boomerang—or a combination of a few or all of the above—at least once a month.

*Waving BOTH of my hands wildly!*

Like, seriously? I SUPER HEART black love stories, particularly the ones starring our Black Brat Pack (Morris Chestnut, Nia Long, Jada Pinkett, Sanaa Lathan, Lorenz Tate, Omar Epps, Taye Diggs, Jada Pinkett, Denzel and them)... love 'em like I do cooked food and gummy bears.

And y’all know how I feel about gummy bears.

It’s that serious.

And don’t let there be another black love story fan in the vicinity. And a little popcorn. And a good bottle of Malbec. And some Godiva chocolates. On a quiet Saturday night, with the kids way in the other room somewhere, adequately warned not to disturb the black movie night groove.

This, for sure, is my private Heaven.

And today, I’m going to share a piece of it with you. To celebrate my favorite African American movies and the MyBrownBaby Happy For the Holidays Giveaway Week, I’m giving away the motherlode of great '90s black films—Love Jones, Love & Basketball, The Best Man, Mo’ Betta Blues, Boomerang, New Jack City, and Set It Off, plus Akeelah and the Bee to keep the little ones occupied while you enjoy your popcorn, your wine, your girls, and your movies.

Oh. Yeah.

ONE LUCKY READER WILL WIN ONE OF EACH OF THE MOVIES LISTED—A MORE THAN $100 VALUE! Want in on this action? Here’s how to enter to win:

MANDATORY

• Be/Become a MyBrownBaby follower, email subscriber, or RSS feed reader.

• Leave a line from one of your favorite black movies in the comments section. Come on, you can do it—I know there isn’t a day that goes by that I’m not quoting one of the featured films. Here, I’ll set it off…

I have been drinking tequila shots, my hormones are raging out of control, I'm emotional, I'm horny, and I don't wanna hear about no goddamn peas!
— Jordan, The Best Man

When a man gets a hard on, you know where the blood come from, right? You know where the blood come from, right? His head and his feet. So A - he's stupid and B - he can't run.
—Savon, Love Jones

Sit yo’ five dolla ass down before I make some change.
—Nino Brown, New Jack City

(Oh man, I love these movies!)
