  2. "It's great to see them looking healthy," said Katie Ellis, a nurse who had cared for the babies.

Hospital staff members gave the family gift baskets full of diapers, baby wipes and other supplies as well as gift certificates provided by Kroger.

"There has been an outpouring of support," Mrs. McGhee said. "We couldn't have done this on our own."

She said family and church members have helped care for the babies, who go through at least 48 diapers a day.

"It's amazing. I'm still in awe," said Charmyne Nixon, the babies' paternal grandmother.

Nixon has been working the night shift - caring for the children so the McGhees can get a few hours of rest.

"A few of them like to wake up around four in the morning," Nixon joked. "But I'm just excited that they're all home and healthy."

    A baby shower has been scheduled at St. Stephen's Community House, 1500 E. 17th Ave., from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sept. 25.

Donors can stop in and meet the children or drive by and drop off any donations.
